Alicia Keys strikes a pose on the cover of this month’s Blender Magazine available in good news outlets next Tuesday. But the contents of the article are already stirring up some serious controversy in the media with some of the comments attributed to Keys.
Keys is reported to suggest that the government created gangsta rap as “a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. Gangsta rap didn’t exist”
She also points an accusing finger over the deaths of Tupac and Biggie Smalls as being fueled by “the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”
The Associated Press also reports that Keys has read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead,” according to the magazine interview.
Her mother denies this though: “”She wears what? That doesn’t sound like Alicia.”

A small rumor circulating around the internet today says that Alicia Keys is starting to make plans for her own marriage later this year.
Media Take Out reports that the songstress will marry her boyfriend Kerry “Krucial” Brothers later this summer. It’s been picked up by several other blogs who are essentially following the same source.
It’s said that Alicia will marry in Long Island during the 4th of July weekend. The speculation apparently stems from word that Keys is trying to book Oheka Castle, which is a popular wedding venue for celebrities in Huntington, New York. They say a “private event” is to be hosted there.
If proven accurate, it would mean Keys would follow her friends Jay-Z and Beyonce down the wedding aisle.

Alicia Keys traveled throughout Africa during the Spring of 2006 in a journey that changed her life forever.
Now a complete documentary of that trip is to be promoted and screened throughout college campuses in the USA, via the internet, television and radio.
The story aims to help raise awareness of many the communities in Africa devasted by HIV and AIDS infections, and drive donations to the Keep a Child Alive (KCA) foundation that Alicia co-founded.
Alicia’s commitment to the fight against AIDS is contagious and she is leading the effort to spread the message of KCA, “Start a Virus to Stop a Virus,” virally, so she has selected a number of prestigious interactive media partners to help get the message out. Running April 9 – May 19, the full-length film will be available for download exclusively at SpiralFrog.com with information provided and donations accepted at AliciainAfrica.com.

Alicia Keys has sent a warm message to Beyonce and Jay-Z who were reported to have exchanged marriage vows on Friday.
“All the best wishes possible, and I think that love is beautiful and when you love somebody, just let it shine and shine bright,” Alicia was quoted as telling OK! magazine.
The happy couple, who have successfully managed to keep their relationship out of the prying eyes of the media, are said to have married in a private ceremony in New York. There has been no official confirmation yet however.
